Hello,
we regularly run Lightstreamer on VirtualBox virtual machines;
we know about Lightstreamer servers deployed on amazon infrastructure (that, if I remember correctly runs on xen virtual machines);
so I don't see anything that could stop you to run Lightstreamer on a VMWare virtual machine.
