Websocket does not connect. You can check yourself here: https://www.websocket.org/echo.html

what is the connection address for a "generic client"?

I am sorry - what is the web socket address to connect to? The actual address? There is nothing to "default" - you have to specify an address when you connect.

You need to use the address of your Lightstreamer Server. If you don't own a Lightstreamer Server, I guess you wish to connect to a third-party installation. In such case, you should refer to their documentation to know the address.

As an aside - maybe this should be clarified in the doc instead of giving that TLCP-2.0.0.lightstreamer.com address to connect to.

I think there is a misunderstanding. TLCP-2.0.0.lightstreamer.comis the WebSocket subprotocol (for the sake of precision, it's called the Sec-WebSocket-Protocol ), it's not the address to connect to.
